Islamabad Jinns, celebrated Independence Day in distinct fashion -
going
head to head in a fierce clash to contest the final of the Azadi Cup
at DHA stadium, Lahore.

deadlocked and bruising encounter, which saw Islamabad eek out a win
and
take away the cup by a solitary point.

scrum-half
Andre Gordino taking a quick tap from a penalty ten meters from the
Lahore
try-line.

tackles, he touched down in the
right corner. His unconverted try saw Islamabad go up 5 - 0, which
is where
the score stood at half time
Lahore hit back early in the second half. With skillfully maneuvered rucks
and mauls, the Lahore forwards made solid progress up the field,
swinging
the ball out to their experienced back line to gain more ground.
From a ruck
formed only meters from the Islamabad try-line, Lahore hooker Salman
Wain
combined with flanker Shakeel, who crashed over for a try just to
the right
of the sticks. The easily converted try took Lahore up 7 - 5.
The game was decided on a penalty, awarded to Islamabad dead in
front of the
posts only 22 meters out and ten minutes from the final whistle. Man
of the
match Andre stepped up to slot home the kick, taking Islamabad to a
winning
8 - 7 score. Lahore made their way back up the field and attacked
