LUMS SUPER SIX
PRESS
RELEASE
The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
organised and hosted
last weekend Pakistan's first 15-a-side rugby tournament, the LUMS
SUPER
SIX, under the auspices of the Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU).
From the 22nd to the 24th of March LUMS, IRFC Jinns (Islamabad
Rugby
Football Club Jinns), Fort Abbas Degree College (Bahawalnagar),
Bahria
University, LRFC (Lahore Rugby Football Club), and KRFC (Karachi
Rugby
Football Club) played in two pools the chance to win the
tournament.
On Sunday 25th, Fort Abbas Degree College beat KRFC by 20-5 to win
the
Bowl, LUMS beat Bahria University 30-0 to win the Plate, and on a
nail
bitting final, LRFC beat IRFC Jinns 17-15 to win the tournament.
During the award distribution, the chief guest Mr. Shahrayar Khan
congratulated the LUMS rugby club and its sports society for
organising
such a groundbreaking event, and the players in general for showing
great
sportsmanship in and out of the field.
